George Washington's Presidential Tour of New England 1789

This interactive time line is based on the diary George Washington kept during his trip. The icons represent places Washington visited, the red lines are travels and the blue lines are stops.

Most of the text in the timeline is from the October 15th through November 13th, 1789 entries in The Diary of Washington at the Internet Archive with occasional notes from myself.

President Washington didn't name all the stops he wrote about, for some of these places I found the name in other sources. Text in the timeline that came from another source is followed by [ref#] indicating the source in the list below.
